Get an Instant Quote on Custom 3D Printing — No Waiting, No Emails

Getting a price on a custom 3D printed part used to mean emails, back-and-forth questions, and waiting days just to find out if a project was in budget. We built our Instant Quote system to eliminate all of that — upload your file, get your price, place your order.

At Designz3D, we manufacture custom 3D printed parts, products, and prototypes near Seattle, WA on industrial-grade equipment. Whether you need a single prototype or a production run of hundreds, our Instant Quote tool gives you a real price in seconds — no account required, no sales call needed.

What is the Instant Quote system?

The Instant Quote system is a self-service pricing tool built directly into the Designz3D store. You upload your 3D model file, select your material and finish preferences, choose your quantity, and receive a price immediately — automatically calculated based on material usage, print time, and complexity.

There's no waiting for a human to review your file before you see a number. The quote is generated in real time so you can explore options, adjust settings, and understand the cost before committing to anything.

Why it matters

Most custom manufacturing quotes take 24–72 hours and require you to speak with someone. Our system respects your time — you can get a price at midnight on a Sunday, compare material options instantly, and place your order without a phone call.

How it works
1

Upload your file

We accept STL, OBJ, STEP, and most common 3D model formats. Just drag and drop your file into the quote tool. No special preparation or reformatting required.

2

Select your material and finish

Choose from PLA, PETG, ABS, and specialty materials. Select your color, layer resolution, and any post-processing options. The price updates live as you adjust.

3

Set your quantity

Need one prototype or a batch of 500? Enter your quantity and the system automatically applies volume pricing. Bulk discounts are calculated and shown upfront.

4

Get your price instantly

Your quote is generated in real time. Review it, adjust anything you want, then add to cart and check out — or save the quote to come back to later.

5

We print and ship

Once your order is placed, our team reviews the file, prepares it for printing, and gets it into production. You'll receive tracking once it ships.

What we can print

If you can model it, we can likely print it. Our industrial FDM printers handle a wide range of geometries, sizes, and material requirements. Here are some of the most common things customers bring to us:

Custom enclosures, housings, and cases for electronics or products
Functional prototypes for testing fit, form, and function before investing in tooling
Replacement parts that are no longer manufactured or prohibitively expensive to source
Jigs, fixtures, and tooling aids for manufacturing or assembly workflows
Branded accessories, custom signage, and promotional items with UV printing
Art pieces, props, display models, and exhibition pieces
Medical and dental models for visualization and education
Architectural models and scale representations
Batch production runs where injection molding isn't yet cost-effective
Not sure if we can print it?

Upload your file anyway and see what the system returns. If it's outside our current capabilities or needs special handling, our team will reach out before production begins. There's no cost to get a quote.

Materials available

Every material has different characteristics — some are rigid and precise, others are impact-resistant or flexible. Here's a quick overview of what we stock:

PLA
Best for prototypes, display models, and low-stress applications. Stiff, accurate, easy to post-process.
PETG
Tougher than PLA with good chemical resistance. Great for functional parts and enclosures.
ABS
High heat and impact resistance. Good for under-hood, mechanical, and outdoor applications.
TPU
Flexible and rubber-like. Ideal for gaskets, grip components, and parts that need to flex.
ASA
UV-stable and weather-resistant. Designed for parts that live outdoors long-term.
Specialty
Wood-fill, metal-fill, glow-in-the-dark, and more. Contact us for specialty material requests.

Why Designz3D?
Industrial
Grade printers — not desktop machines
Seattle
Made near Seattle, WA — US manufactured
Instant
Real-time pricing — no waiting for quotes

Industrial equipment, not hobbyist printers

Our printers run at professional tolerances and produce consistent, repeatable results that desktop machines can't match. Tighter layer adhesion, better dimensional accuracy, stronger parts.

Transparent pricing, no surprises

What the Instant Quote shows you is what you pay. No hidden setup fees, no surprise material surcharges. Volume discounts are applied automatically and shown upfront before you check out.

Made in the US, near Seattle

Every part is designed and manufactured at our facility near Seattle, WA. Not outsourced offshore. Not dropshipped from an overseas fulfillment center. Made here, shipped to you.

UV printing for branded parts

Need your logo on the finished piece? Our UV printing service lets us apply full-color branding directly onto the printed surface — no stickers, no vinyl, permanently fused to the material.

Who uses our Instant Quote?

Our customers range from solo inventors and small studios to engineering teams at established companies. Here's a look at who gets the most out of the Instant Quote workflow:

Product designers and engineers

Getting a quick price on a prototype iteration is critical when you're running through multiple design revisions. The Instant Quote lets design teams get prices on five different versions of a part in the time it would normally take to send one quote request.

Small businesses and startups

Before you commit to an injection mold tool at $10,000+, 3D printing lets you validate your design at a fraction of the cost. Our Instant Quote makes it easy to understand exactly what a small production run costs — so you can make smart decisions about when to scale.

IT and security teams

Custom enclosures, cable management solutions, bracket adapters, and hardware accessories are a constant need. If your team uses YubiKeys, Raspberry Pis, or custom hardware — we've built accessories for all of it and can print more from your own specs.

Makers, hobbyists, and creators

Not everyone has their own 3D printer — and even those who do sometimes need parts that exceed their machine's capability in size, material, or precision. Upload your file and let us handle the print.

Tips for getting the best quote
Export your file as STL or STEP for the most accurate pricing calculation.
Make sure your model is watertight — no open edges or non-manifold geometry. Most CAD tools have a check for this.
If your part has fine details under 0.4mm, flag it in your order notes — some features may need to be adjusted for printability.
For functional parts, specify which surfaces are critical tolerance — we can adjust print orientation to prioritize those faces.
If you need multiple parts that ship together, add them all before checking out to combine shipping.
Not sure which material to choose? PLA is a safe default for prototypes, PETG for anything functional, ABS or ASA for heat or outdoor exposure.
